Artist Statement

Making art encourages me to experiment and improvise. I am curious about learning new techniques. When the outcome often doesn’t match my original idea but instead develops out of the process, it feels more intuitive and organic to me. While making my art, I abandon my original vision and am just happy to play and let go of control. I am inspired by designs, geometric shapes, photography, textures and forms of the world around me, objects I see in my environment, and my travels. I love being in nature; it nurtures and inspires me. I am extremely fortunate to live where I do in this beautiful natural world, surrounded by ocean, mountains, wildlife, and woods.
